Description

Perlemoen (or Haliotis Midae) are also known as Abalone; these A grade polished specimans are also from the Hermanus/Cape Town area. Grinding and polishing is done in a small factory with specialised machinery, and is quite involved.
They come in four sizes – small, medium, large and X large in the natural colour. (The whitish colour shell with red flecks being held in the palm of a hand is the small size.)

The whiter colour is also available in medium, Large & X large sizes.

There is a process also to “copperize” and make the Perlemoen a goldish colour – these are available in large and XL sizes.
