Dichroic glass jewelry

This unique glass fused jewelry, which is fired in a kiln, is made from special glass originally formulated in the 1960’s for use in the Hubble telescope and for interference filters used in lazers. It was specially formulated for its reflective and refractive qualities. It is created by coating the glass with many thin layers of precious metals and oxides, a high-tech process which takes place in a vacuum chamber. The result is a partial mirror effect, which causes the colours to shift and change depending on the lights. The shifting colours lend an almost magical quality the glass.

The earing studs are R220 (S. Silver) and pendants range from R300-R420. They can be worn with a silver chain or a black thong chord.
